Some things this week…
- Got my 2012 day planner. Always makes me feel more organised.
- Started being completely vegan a week ago. The thing that pushed me over the edge from vegetarian was when I saw this video, and, not wanted to believe something just because I saw it on the internet, I emailed the most ‘ethical’, free range, SPCA approved egg company in NZ and they confirmed that yes, that happens in the place they get their chicks from, but after they buy the surviving females they live a happy life at the egg farm. Translation: “We are supporting a business which throws thousands of chicks into a macerator every (week? month?), but because we treat the ones we buy to make money from nicely, we have no responsibility and are good people”. Yeah, um…
- For environmental reasons, about to start reading this study so I have some other intelligent things to say when awkwardly confronted at family dinners.
- I am a little enthralled with the whole “David Choe is the Highest Paid Artist in the History of The World” story. I don’t even like his art very much, but I think if anyone had to get $200 million dollars and do something cool with it, David Choe is a good contender. (If you aren’t into people talking about having lots of sex and doing stupid crimes, then don’t click the link).
- David Sedaris is Awesome (Rookie Magazine article)
- Taika Waititi has a kickstarter for the U.S release of BOY. The rewards are totally awesome, (wish I had a spare $40 so I could get a crazy Horse membership and patch… or $2500 and got the jacket I would be the toughest kid in town with that).
- Listening to various Sarah Records bands, really good and I hope they finish the film soon!
- Also listening to the Halo Benders.
- oooh and I made a header for my art inspiration blog and am trying to make the theme or whatever look nice so I will tell you about that now. I still have to do a bit more on it to make it better but it’s basically the way I want it now.
- Going to Australia in 14 days!!! So far it’s Hobart - Melbourne - Sydney and then Auckland on the way home but I guess plans can change depending on where I feel like going.
- That’s probably all. I’m tired. I should probably clean my house or work or something now. you should send me letters or hang out with me or something and we can discuss more things.
